...with a little help from my friends.
This weekend has been a truly blessed time to spend with friends. On Friday the JIPsters went to the NC State Fair together. I got to share my favorite past time and family tradition with them. On Saturday I met up with some of my Core sisters and went back to the fair. I still get excited each time I get to take someone to their first State Fair. Fried cookie dough is by far my favorite food at the fair. Everyone has their "must have" food item. Mine has evolved over the years but I'm already craving more and I just had some yesterday!
I also got to spend some time with my parents this weekend. As much as the fair foods and ride (singular) were fantastic, hanging out at home with friends has been much more memorable.
Today three of my housemates went with me to rake my parent's yard. It took us about 2 hours to do a job that would have taken my mom 3 days. It really filled my heart with joy to share that experience with them. It may seem like a small thing but I know how much it meant to my parents. Especially because they didn't ask for it. It was a gift that required sacrifice but didn't require money. Money isn't everything.
Today I'm very thankful for the people that are in my life.
The best is yet to come,
~Adwoa
