There is nothing worse than a lack of air; the strain of your body trying to function while being deprived of its most essential resource. Often we take for granted the expanding and collapsing of our lungs. We inhale and exhale without having to think about it. But when that privilege is taken away and you have to work for every breath you are very aware that things are not as they once were.
My body is ill and I as I lay in bed at night feeling every heave of my chest I realize that my body is craving the thing that it is so accustomed to having...air.
And as I drove home to curl up in my bed I became aware that my spirit has been enduring a similar battle. Some things you never realize you missed until you have to fight to get it back.
The best is yet to come,
