I don't get splitters often but next time it happens I'm definitely going for the baking soda + water combination. A few months ago I pulled a splinter out of my co-workers hand on the the construction site with semi-dull plastic tweezers...ouch!
I know a couple of guys I would recommend for the zipper pull.
