Even though nobody asked I will share ;)
So Adwoa what music have you been listening to lately?
For the past 4 months only 3 albums have been in my CD player and I've been playing them on continuous loop.
In order of most recent rotations:
1. Tori Kelly (Unbreakable Smile)
2. Adele (25, Target deluxe edition)
3. Jana Kramer (31, Target deluxe edition)
Total woman power! Albums full of strong vocals, meaningful and personal lyrics, and legit emotions. When you sing something you either wrote, lived through, or both it transfers into your performance.
And since I'm sure you're itching to know, these are my favorite tracks from each album:
31
"Last Song" - because it's gritty and raw and about a very public breakup Jana had with fellow country artist Brantley Gilbert
"I Got the Boy" - it's bittersweet yet romantic
21
"When We Were Young" - makes me reminiscent (which I think is the intended purpose)
"Water Under the Bridge" - the music is great and R&B-ish. When I heard the chorus performed on
Jimmy Fallon live I knew I needed to buy the whole album.
bonus *my favorite lyric on the entire album is "I've been looking for you baby, in every face that I've ever known" from Sweetest Devotion
Unbreakable Smile
First Heartbreak - this song caught me off guard at first. When I listened again it reminded me of myself so much that I almost always play it more then once in a row when I'm listening to the album (or tonight when I wrote this post).
Anyway- it's fun and upbeat but also pro-self. Who doesn't need an ima-be-me hype jam in their life??
Happy listening! Feel free to let me know what you've been listening to.
The best is yet to come,
~Adwoa
