White Butterfly

There have been so many happy things to write about. I've been going to the gym regularly and making friends there. Friday I'm planning on swimming laps. This is a major step for me. I have not swum in a public pool (neighborhood pool, backyard pool, fitness center pool) since I was in high school...maybe longer than that. But my desire for diversity in my cardio workout outweighs all of my past feelings about the vast sanitation issues I have come across with public pools in my youth swim team days.

Some highlights from my day:
  1. The personal tv's inside the treadmills at the YMCA have CMT (Country Music Television)!!!!!!! That alone was enough motivation to push through my 30 minutes on the machine. I always have my best workouts while I'm on that station.
  2. Emails from my dad are always great. He is learning a lot and growing and that makes me really happy. He saw a white butterfly by my grandmother's grave and was deeply moved by the experience. I will think of her any time I see one. Plus he titled his email "lessons learned". Any reference to Carrie Underwood, even if it's unintentional, makes me happy.
  3. I went to a meeting in the community with some faith organizations for work. Getting out of the office is magnificent plus there was [FREE] Subway for lunch!
  4. I finally obtained access to build a website for work which I have been trying to get started since last Thursday. Things are going well and this project officially marks the beginning of my independence and intentional creativity in the work place.
  5. We had another interesting Parakaleo tonight (Parakaleo is Greek meaning "walk besides"...it functions like our Bible study in the house). God has really been speaking to me during these nights. Tonight I thought I was having my own little session but I followed up with one person who I was led to write about in my journal and what they told me totally confirmed God's presence in this house.
The peace I find in knowing that God's hand print is all over this stage of my life has been the greatest gift and blessing of this month so far. I will continue to expect more and to offer up more.

The best is yet to come,
~Adwoa
