This Is What I Know Now

I've learned a few things recently:

1. pouring the hot chocolate mix into cold milk and then warming it up is risky but delicious
2. potluck Thanksgiving lunches are the new "it" thing (I've had 4 of them this week and it's still 5 days until Thanksgiving)
3. good things come to those who make known what they want

This is a conversation I had with my supervisor Susan this week:

Susan: who do you love more than anyone else in the world???
Me: umm....my mommy
Susan: aww good answer, but not right
Me: Susan?
Susan: another good answer but still not right
Me: Katie (who was standing behind me)
Susan: no! you don't love Katie
Me: I don't think I like where this is going
Elizabeth: who's on the screen of your computer?
Me: ...Carrie Underwood??
Susan: YES!!!!!

I then proceeded to jump up and down with excitement (note: I never do things like that but it had been a busy day). Susan then hands me a very hefty In Style magazine which Katie received in the mail after specifically requesting that they not send it to her.

This was a great end of the week moment for me. Happy little Friday indeed.

   4. I learned that I really enjoy watching live ice hockey. Last night I went with one of my housemates to watch the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Ottawa Senators. It was my 2nd game this month and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Canes won 7-1. But we also learned that the Senators had recently lost a coach's daughter to suicide so they might have been a worn down heading into this game. Mike Fisher, husband of Carrie Underwood, plays forward for the Senators. He's really good. Too bad he didn't score. Mike you're alright in my book. Go Canes!
