There is a lot that can be lost when you leave a thing behind. There is also a lot that can be learned through that distance of time and space. I stopped blogging for over a month and I stopped journaling for equally as long. I stopped taking my daily photos. And most disappointingly I stopped being intentional about the things I was involved in. But during that time I never stopped thinking and I never stopped growing and I never stopped hearing from God. In fact I heard from Him more in the absence of things that once helped me keep my bearings. Last week it all culminated and I realized that my day to day life had become a long to-do list. I was going from one item to the next, mindlessly. But I thank God for redemption. Something deep within me was fighting it's way to the surface. I didn't know exactly what it was but I became so uncomfortable that I knew something had to change. Even though I was more involved, received more accolades, had more on my plate, and had a to-do list longer than I could handle, I still felt a tug that something was missing. I had a lot of answers but to the wrong questions. I hope I haven't lost you with what I'm saying.
In simple terms, I needed more. I need more. There is no call more strong than the one that stirs up from the depths of your being that says "WAKE UP!". Wake up and start being who you were created to be. Wake up and start doing the things that you were called to do. Wake up and live the life that you were purposed to live. So much in this life is connected to me being exactly who God fashioned, created, and purposed me to be. I am grateful for His gift that comes in a time of absence. That gift is a call; an urging; an unexplained desire. This call pulls you from where you have drifted and says be who you were meant to be. It's as simple as that...It's as hard as that. But it is the greatest gift you can give yourself and give back to this world. To be exactly who you were created to be.
That's what I'm trying to do.
The best is yet to come,
~Adwoa
