I made it back. Nashville was a-MAZING! Blazing +90 degree temperature all week. Not to mention sunburn but I'd do it all again in an instant. Not to mention I want Martina McBride's entire wardrobe.
Highlights:- driving through the "mountains" that my Dad was worried about
- Holly's mix cd's
- the Fiddler's Inn motel was so much better than I could have expected. The location was perfect and the rooms were nice (even though they were old). I would love to go back there again for the next Fan Club Party.
- meeting Carrie Underwood!!!!!!
- going to 2 shows at the Grand Ole Opry
- while I wouldn't go back to the CMT Music Awards it was definitely a good experience
- LP Field nightly concerts (Thur, Fri, Sat, and Sun)
- Sugarland, Martina McBride, and Keith Urban were my favs
- The crowd gave her another tear provoking standing ovation this year.
- meeting Kristen Chenoweth, and talking with her about fried pickles and Monte Christo sandwiches.
- red velvet ice cream from Mike's Ice Cream on Broadway
- my custom inscribed new belt and buckle
- Martina McBride YWCA Celebrity Auction
- top selling item was the dress she wore when the Opry re-opened. It went for $27,000!
I did everything I set out to do and I'm so glad I made it a week long trip. It's taken me about four days to re-coup from it all :P There have been some things going on at the house so I'm glad that I could at least have this vacation to really enjoy in the midst of all that's occurring.
