I should start putting pictures in my Happiness Jar. This is what I've been up to the last two weeks:
A few weeks ago I was surprised with first row tickets to see Luke Bryan. The surprise wasn't that I attended the concert. I purchased tickets through his fan club but seat location was not disclosed until I arrived at will call. Luke puts on a GREAT show and it was my first time seeing him headline. Bucket list item!
My new life group, Elevate 2.0, launched at it has been such a blessing to my life! These new friends are becoming family. They slipped right past my overprotective don't-get-too-close-to-me barrier and have some how helped me be a more genuine, present, and engaged leader in only two weeks.
My favorite male country artist right now (and maybe forever) is Brett Eldredge. The first time my sister and I saw him in 2010 he was virtually unknown. I've been following him ever since. Unlike most artists I'm a big fan of, Brett is still at the beginning of his career. I've gotten his autograph more times than I'd like announce out loud at this point. Beyond my love-crush of Brett, the reason for me writing is that I got to share my love for his music with 4 of my friends last week at a concert. The venue was so packed I couldn't even put my arms down at my sides because I wouldn't have been able to bring them back up! But I would do it over again in a heartbeat because as Brett would sing we were "falling in love to the beat of the music".
In 4 days I leave with two of my best friends to Honduras. The trip is 2/3 service, 1/3 leisure, and 100% spiritual. The group we are traveling with is not a church group. Habitat International is a Christian organization but it's not a church either. However, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18), This is an opportunity; a gift. Being able to travel with people I love to learn, grow, and share is such a blessing. I don't know how the trip is going to turn out or what will happen, but I want to make the most of it and enter everything with a grateful heart.
The best is yet to come,
